A/C Recharges and Leaks
The fluid in your air conditioning system, called refrigerant, is run through nozzles and pumps to create colder temperatures for your air. However, that is technically a closed system, which means you shouldn't be losing any normally. However, when leaks develop, whether through hose, gasket, or another part failure, you need to both take care of the leak and recharge your system. Our certified technicians inject a leak gas into your A/C system to see from where the refrigerant is escaping, and that tells us what needs to be fixed to keep your refrigerant in.
How Often Should I Recharge My A/C
Recharging your A/C is a little different from most services. Since the refrigerant isn't supposed to come out or need replacing as long as the A/C system is intact, it depends on when your A/C system needs replacement parts. You'll generally notice your A/C feeling warmer, or even not becoming cold at all, when you need a recharge. When you bring your car in, we'll make sure your A/C issues are not only found and fixed, but then that your A/C system is fully recharged afterward.
